Over the years, I have avoided trimming pots once they are leather hard. I like foot rings; I just have never been comfortable trimming. In the past, I tried all sorts of methods to secure pots to the wheel, with varying levels of non-success. Eventually, I just quit throwing pots that needed feet trimmed.
I recently got the opportunity to take the Giffin Grip for a test drive, so to speak. This is a tool that is built to make it easier to center a pot on the wheel for trimming and secure it to the wheel so it doesn't shift.
Even with the Grip's excellent reputation, I was wary. I've run into products that have made lovely promises while delivering disappointment all too often. Was I disappointed this time?...Read my review for the full scoop. In the meantime, I'm off to make more pots with trimmed feet.
