Brother Thomas' Pottery

By July 13, 2008

Brother Thomas' pottery will be exhibited from July 12, through Aug. 17 at the Harrison Gallery, located at 39 Spring St. in Williamstown, MA. If you can make it to this show (or any other shows of Brother Thomas' work), you will want to get there!

Brother Thomas was a Benedictine monk and potter. I first saw his work at a show in Erie, PA after he had moved to a monastery in the area; his work is incredible. Glorious. It sings.

Although Brother Thomas died last year, his pottery and his message live on. For more information, here's an article about the show and also the Harrison Gallery's website. Look for the online pictures of some of Brother Thomas' work under the "Artists" navigation tab.

What lovely pottery! It really does sing. Each piece seems to be imbued with a bit of his spirit.
